Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter in Lucerne to meet with her German counterpart, Christian Lindner

Bern, 03.11.2023 - On 3 November 2023, Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter, Head of the Federal Department of Finance, met the German Finance Minister, Christian Lindner, in Lucerne for a working visit.

In Lucerne, Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter and Finance Minister Christian Lindner spoke about global developments in the financial sector. "Germany is Switzerland's most important trading partner. Economic development there is therefore very important for us," said Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter after the discussion. In addition, she praised the good cooperation in bilateral financial relations.

After the meeting, the two ministers appeared as speakers at the University of Lucerne and talked about the importance of regulatory policy for today's fiscal policy.

Switzerland and Germany maintain very close economic relations. Germany is Switzerland's most important trading partner. In 2022, the countries exchanged goods and services worth over CHF 100 billion.
