Matthias Hürlimann appointed head of OFCOM's Telecom Services and Post Division

Biel/Bienne, 26.09.2024 - Federal Councillor Albert Rösti has appointed Matthias Hürlimann as vice-director of the Federal Office of Communications and head of the Telecom Services and Post Division. The 51-year-old lawyer will take up his new position on 1 November 2024.

After studying law at the University of Bern, Matthias Hürlimann passed the bar exam to practise law in Bern. From 2002, he worked as an assistant at the Institute of Public Law at the University of Bern and was legal secretary to the university appeals commission and a cantonal compulsory purchase commission. In 2008, he joined OFCOM as a legal specialist in charge of proceedings before being appointed head of the Legal Affairs Telecommunications Section in 2013. He lives with his family in Bern.

Matthias Hürlimann will take up his new position on 1 November 2024. He will take over from René Dönni Kuoni, who will take on a different role within the Office as deputy director and head of the Licences and Frequency Management Division.
