Cyber Defence Campus launches Cyber Startup Challenge 2024

Bern, 24.05.2024 - The DDPS Cyber Defence Campus is once again organising a Cyber Startup Challenge this year. Under the motto «Security of Artificial Intelligence», innovative solutions in the field of security of machine learning models (ML) and security checks in the field of artificial intelligence are being sought. The winner will receive a contract for a proof of concept and will be able to demonstrate their solution in a real DDPS environment. The closing date for applications is 31 August 2024.

The Cyber Defence (CYD) Campus of armasuisse Science and Technology monitors and anticipates cyber developments. In doing so, it responds to the increasing cyber risks and is gain looking for forward-looking technologies this year as part of its as part of its Cyber tartup Challenge. This year's motto «Security of Artificial intelligence» focuses on ideas for mproving the security of machine learning (ML) models.

Innovative solutions for the security of artificial intelligence

The Cyber Startup Challenge 2024 aims to examine the startup landscape around the topic of AI security in the defence sector. We are looking for startups with innovative approaches in the field of AI security.

Startups can submit their proposed solutions for the Cyber Startup Challenge 2024 until 31 August 2024. The three startups with the most innovative technology solutions will present their proposals at the Cyber Defence Campus Conference on 30 October 2024 in Bern. A jury of experts from the DDPS will select the best solution during the conference. The startup that wins the challenge will receive a contract for the integration of a so-called proof of concept, in which the company can demonstrate its technology solution in the DDPS environment.

The Cyber Defence Campus

The Cyber Defence Campus forms the link between the DDPS, industry and science in the areas of research, innovation and training for cyber defence. Its tasks include the early identification of the latest trends in the cyber field, the development and testing of cyber technologies and the training of cyber specialists.

It was established in 2019 as part of the DDPS Cyber Defence Action Plan at armasuisse Science and Technology and contributes to the Cyber DDPS strategy and the national cyber strategy (NCS).
